This road is a very famous attraction in Romania, due to the beautiful and quite unique aspect of the landscape and also because of the curvy road. The Bicaz river carves through giant blocks of rock and the road is following the flow of the water. The road passes through almost 8km of spectacular ravines. The Bicaz gorge is one of the main rock climbing sites in Romania. Often the road has rock on one side and a sheer drop on the other, being one of the most spectacular rides in the country. Also within the gorge is Lacul Roşu (the Red Lake), with its traditional cabins, hotels, and its famous lake (situated at 980m altitude) caused by a landslide in the 19th century. Regarding the road conditions, as you start riding from Bicaz, you might come across some patch on the roads till you enter the National Park of Bicaz Gorge.
